Chinese Visitors

 

    Visiting professors from Ningxia Polytechnic Institute in China visited the Oxford Town Hall after spending time at Oxford's new high school and at the invitation of First Selectman, Mary Ann Drayton-Rogers.

Ling Xudong, Information Technology Dept. Professor
Ronghua Song, Hamden, CT businessman of Chinese descent coordinated the visit through Stephen Wilmarth of the Education Connection, a Litchfield-based regional educational service center.

    First Selectman Drayton-Rogers introduced them to all town hall office officials and personnel.  They spent extensive time visiting the Town Clerk, Tax Collector, Inland/Wetlands officials, and Library staff.  In addition, our democratic town meeting form of government was explained to them by the First Selectman.

    An official welcome to the Province of Ningxia in China was extended to Oxford town government officials and school system administrators by the visitors.

    Standing behind the First Selectman in her office are Song, Ling, and Chen.
