Economic Development Commission

About the Commission
The Town of Oxford Economic Development Commission is responsible for developing, maintaining and marketing the economic potential of Oxford. The Commission is comprised of seven appointed professionals with various backgrounds including real estate, insurance, finance, engineering and industrial management, photography and banking. The Commission meets monthly, and holds events throughout the year focused on maintaining and fostering business growth.

Oxford has over 2,500 acres of town-owned industrial property, which is the focus of the Commission's growth plans. The Commission has been very successful in marketing and encouraging new businesses to expand and relocate to Oxford. In the past four years, the town has realized over a 34% increase in its industrial tax base. Commercial construction projects are pervasive. Oxford offers true real estate value, and is considered one of the best places in Connecticut to raise a family and grow a business.

Oxford has tremendous growth potential. Our Commission is tasked with developing a strategic growth plan that both expands our tax base and promotes business growth. We respect our Town's history and dedication to quality of life factors such as the preservation of open space and superior education, and look forward to responsible business development.
