Oxford Main Street Project News

OMSP is happy to announce that it has received two grant awards for the OMSP project.  They are Connecticut Connectivity Grant for $398,200.00 and the Oxford Alternate Transportation Plan for $150,000.00.  The Connecticut Connectivity Grant will fund the Little River Nature Preserve trail from Route 67 to the Little River.  In addition, it will create sidewalks, benches and lighting for the Municipal Center.  The scope of work for this project will be refined and more information will be forthcoming.  The Oxford Alternate Transportation Plan is a collaborative grant between the Town of Oxford and the Naugatuck Valley Council of Governments (NVCOG) received a grant that will delineate the best route for the connection between Seymour and Oxford.  This grant is important for future grant applications.  As you know the OMSP is a four-phase project that will eventually connect the Naugatuck Greenway with the Larkin Trail and Oxford Little River Nature Preserve.  There will sidewalks, walkways and linear parks that will line Oxford.
