Jackson Cove Park on Lake Zoar
If swimming, water skiing, boating and hiking are what you're looking for, then Jackson Cove Park is just the place. Located on Lake Zoar, this park offers a quiet beach with a large pavilion and 27 acres of woodland trails. The Oxford loop of the Pomperaug Trail provides hours of exercise filled with scenic views of the Housatonic River. The first completed segment of the Housatonic River Belt Greenway, a 4.6 mile trail, extends from Fiddlehead Road to Kettletown State Park. It was characterized by volunteers from the Connecticut Forest Parks Association along with members from the Oxford Land Trust and many community residents.
Kirk's Pond
Kirk's Pond, located on Route 67 near the Town Hall, is available for fishing and ice-skating.
The Victory Memorial Park
The Victory Memorial Park is a small wooded parcel of land just south of the Oxford Green on Route 67. A single park bench and the sound of the Little River as it passes by set the background for a memorial dedicated to the community residents who made the greatest sacrifice for freedom.
Oxford Glen
Oxford Glen on Roosevelt Drive is a park under development, which will have a ball field and soccer field.
Posypanko Park
Posypanko Park on Hawkins Road is a 16-acre tract which contains ball fields, tennis courts, and a batting cage. The concession stand supplies the days refreshments and it's not uncommon to smell hot dogs cooking throughout the Little League season. Additional ball fields are located at Oxford Center School and Great Oak Middle School, which also have an outdoor track and tennis courts.
Oxford is bordered by parts of several state parks. These include:

- Naugatuck State Forest
- Larkin Bridle Trail
Kettletown State Park
A 220-acre facility that offers camping, swimming, hiking and a picnic area. It is accessible from Kettletown Road in Southbury.
The Larkin Bridle Trail
The Larkin Bridle Trail passes through the town's industrial zone, is a favorite of area equestrians. Maintenance of town-owned parks is the responsibility of the local Park and Recreation Commission.
The Naugatuck State Forest
The Naugatuck State Forest is comprised of 365 acres of forest land and is used primarily for hiking and picnicking.
Southford Falls
Located on Route 188 a ll5 acre park bisected by Eight-Mile Brook. Spectacular scenery, including a cascading waterfall, covered bridge and lush foliage, make the park a popular locale for wedding photography. A sizable dam, stocked with trout, provides good fishing in the springtime and ice skating in the winter. The park also has hiking trails, pavilion and picnic benches.
